Beware of Counterfeits

A number of diamond sellers claim that their diamonds have undergone HPHT processing when it is not true. The HPHT process is highly specialized and expensive. There are very few companies in the world that can achieve the temperature and pressures required for permanent color change.

Imitators can be seen selling pinks on retail auction websites, and they often camouflage the process with phrases like:

  • “Ion Fused”
  • “Enhanced”

A diamond's permanent color comes through a unique process that delivers a fully saturated color. An HPHT colored diamond will not fade or disappear during setting or under a jeweler's torch.
